Michael Olunga nets first Japanese hat-trick to go top on scorers charts

Olunga inspired Kashiwa Reysol to a 5-1 win with his sensational hat-trick - The Kenyan star has now scored in three consecutive matches - Olunga sits on the summit of the top scorers charts with eight goals in just six appearances.

Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga has finally scored his maiden hat-trick in the Japanese top-flight league. Olunga found the back of the three times as his Kashiwa Reysol side hammered Vegalta Sendai 5-1 in a Japan league clash played at the Sankyo Frontier stadium on Sunday, July 27.

Hayato Nakama got Reysol off a flying start, scoring the opener in the 20th minute of the match before Olunga found his first five minutes to half time. The Harambee Stars talisman went on to score in the 58th minute and in the 73rd minute to complete his sensational hat-trick.

The Kenyan international is currently in spectacular shape having scored in three consecutive matches. Meanwhile, Reysol's Sunday win has them occupying seventh place on the J-League standings with 12 points.
